Why I love Liverpool Football Club;
It’s not a secret and has never been, that Fernando Torres is my favorite football player and I even now when he has left he is still my favorite football player. I bet when you heard the news about his transfer, you were all thinking, “yeah and now that he’s leaving LFC, she’ll move on too,” but I didn’t and I can tell you exactly why.
In my heart I will always know that the club comes first and to be honest, with a club like Liverpool, how could it not?
This club is everything I dreamed of it to be when I first started watching football. The history, the passion, the love. It’s all that I’ve ever wanted to see in clubs and a lot of clubs have it, heck FC Barcelona has it, but no one does it the same way Liverpool does.
I adore this club and I adore it’s traditions. It’s famous, not only for it’s achievements, but also for it’s fans. The Kop gives me chills and when the red voices roar, nothing can be even remotely compared. When You’ll Never Walk Alone blasts out the speakers at Anfield, I smile. A wonderful club; with the best anthem. But when the fans sings the song, then it’s different. It’s no longer just an anthem. It’s a way of life. It’s hope. The best example of just that, is the videos from the Champions League finale in Istanbul on that glorious night in 2005. ‘The Miracle of Istanbul’ it’s called and a miracle it was.
Nothing kills me more than knowing that there was all these amazing moments, - and I wasn’t there. Not there to cheer on my boys, not there to cry, not there to scream. Not there to live our dream. It kills me that players like Alvaro, Xabi and Sami have been here, have showed their glory, made the dream come true and I wasn’t there to cheer them on.
I can sit and look at pictures and it will make me tear up, because in some ways, I don’t think anyone will understand how it is to love this club. How it feels. It’s hard at times, but at the end of the day, I wouldn’t switch the pain for happiness, because one thing, I’ll always carry in my heart is how proud I am of this club and what it has achieved.
This club has a feeling to it, something that drags me in. Whenever I see something that reminds me of this club, I smile. People ask me why and I can’t explain it. I know I haven’t been around for long, but something in my heart tells me that I will be. Something tells me that I will be around till my own end, because at some point Liverpool stole my heart and I don’t think it’ll ever give it up, - and I know that I don’t want it to give my heart up. This club deserves my heart, soul and very being and if it wants my only and all, then I’ll give it my only and all.
From Shankly to Rafa, we’ve followed our dream.
From Rome to Istanbul, we’ve all lived the dream.
Our journey is long, but our goals stay the same,
To keep for our children, the famous red name.
Wherever we are, wherever we stay,
Be sure the Kopites will seize the day.
For this is our destiny, our passion and pride;
Liverpool Football Club, the world’s greatest side.
It is true. Liverpool is the greatest side. I don’t care what any of you has to say. You can call me biased, you can call me whatever you’d like. Liverpool Football Club is for life.
And I wouldn’t want it any other way.
